1. Accepting these terms
By creating a hosted account, purchasing a subscription, or using Markdown Mash Hosted, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the service for a school, company, or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
2. The service
Markdown Mash lets a host create and run live quizzes, invite participants, and review session analytics. Participants do not need accounts. The hosted plan currently supports one open room at a time and up to 50 participants per persistent room.
Independent copies deployed from the public GitHub repository are self-hosted software governed by the repository licenses, not by a Markdown Mash Hosted subscription or service commitment.
3. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate account information, protect your password, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for choosing appropriate quiz and participant content.
4. Educational and participant use
Hosts control the quizzes they create and decide who participates. If you use Markdown Mash with students or minors, you are responsible for having the authority and notices or consents required by your school, organization, and applicable law. Ask participants to use a nickname or first name when a full legal name is unnecessary, and do not submit sensitive personal information.
5. Subscription, renewal, and cancellation
Markdown Mash Hosted is offered as a recurring annual subscription at the price shown during Stripe Checkout, currently $15 USD per year. The subscription renews annually until canceled. You may cancel through the Stripe Customer Portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and access continues until then.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Your purchase is also subject to our Refund Policy and any non-waivable consumer rights that apply to you.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, bypass access or participant limits, probe another account or room, distribute malware, violate privacy or intellectual-property rights, or use Markdown Mash for unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, or harmful content.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of quizzes and other content you provide. You give Ensemble Methods a limited permission to host, process, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate and support the service. You confirm that you have the rights needed to use the content you submit.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Markdown Mash reliable, but the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, failures, or circumstances outside our control. Features may change as the product improves. If a material change adversely affects a paid plan, we will provide reasonable notice when practical.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for nonpayment, material violations of these terms, security risks, or unlawful use. You may stop using the service and cancel renewal at any time. Provisions that naturally continue—such as ownership, payment obligations, and limitations—survive termination.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the hosted service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without guarantees that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Ensemble Methods is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited.
11. Updates and contact
We may update these terms by posting a new effective date. For questions, accessibility help, or account support, email info@markdownmash.com.
